Technische Spezifikation

Isola FR370HR stands out as a premium high-Tg FR-4 laminate and prepreg, tailored for high-reliability multilayer PCB manufacturing. Generic standard FR-4 substrates often struggle with poor thermal tolerance and unstable structural performance during lead-free processing. By contrast, FR370HR PCB material boasts upgraded thermal stability, robust CAF resistance, and precise dimensional control. It adapts seamlessly to lead-free soldering workflows and high-density layer stacking, two core requirements of modern industrial and consumer circuit board production. Most design and manufacturing teams opt for this material to strike a reliable balance between mass production efficiency and long-term device operational stability.
Thermal performance is the biggest advantage of high reliability FR370HR substrate, setting it apart from entry-level FR-4 alternatives. It features a 180°C glass transition temperature (Tg), a massive upgrade over conventional FR-4 materials that only hit 130°C to 150°C. This high thermal threshold prevents substrate softening, layer misalignment and severe warpage when boards undergo multiple high-temperature reflow cycles. Its decomposition temperature (Td) sits at 340°C, safeguarding structural integrity against sudden thermal shock during soldering. In actual production tests, FR370HR sustains 60 minutes at T260 and 30 minutes at T288 without delamination. This outstanding thermal endurance eliminates layered peeling failures that commonly plague high-load, long-cycle PCB applications.
Dimensional stability and controlled thermal expansion are indispensable for high-precision multilayer and HDI PCB projects. Isola FR370HR laminate delivers consistent CTE values across all board axes. The X and Y-axis thermal expansion stabilizes at roughly 12 ppm/°C, while the optimized Z-axis CTE greatly reduces tensile stress on via barrels. Ordinary FR-4 boards easily develop micro-cracks and fractured vias after repeated temperature swings. FR370HR avoids these defects effectively. For thick multi-layer stacks and fine-pitch HDI layouts, this steady thermal matching drastically improves finished board flatness and SMT assembly yield, solving most thermal deformation-related mass production issues.
For medium-frequency signal transmission scenarios, FR370HR PCB offers stable and cost-effective electrical performance. Under standard testing conditions, it maintains a fixed dielectric constant (Dk) of 4.04 and a low dissipation factor (Df) of 0.021. It is not designed for ultra-high-speed 5G or millimeter-wave circuits, but works flawlessly within the 0–5GHz frequency range that covers most industrial and consumer electronics. Its steady electrical parameters prevent signal distortion and excessive transmission loss in power control boards, industrial sensing modules and common communication auxiliary circuits. Compared with costly high-speed specialized substrates, this material delivers fully qualified electrical performance for mainstream general-purpose projects.
One of FR370HR’s most practical strengths is its excellent process compatibility for mass manufacturing. The material fully complies with IPC-4101 industry standards, UL safety certifications and RoHS environmental regulations. It comes with native UV blocking and AOI-friendly fluorescence properties, which boost the accuracy of automated optical inspection during quality checks. Its superior CAF resistance is particularly valuable for high-density PCBs with compact via spacing, effectively stopping conductive anodic filament growth and latent short-circuit risks. Manufacturers can process FR370HR using standard FR-4 lamination, etching and surface finishing workflows, no special equipment or complex parameter adjustments required. This greatly stabilizes production yield while controlling overall manufacturing costs.
In real-world material selection, FR370HR high Tg PCB material occupies an irreplaceable cost-performance market segment. It outperforms regular FR-4 substrates in thermal resistance and structural stability, yet costs far less than premium high-speed laminates such as FR408HR and I-Speed. It sees extensive use in industrial control motherboards, non-safety automotive electronic modules, compact high-density consumer PCBs and general-purpose multi-layer communication boards. For most conventional projects that demand lead-free process adaptability and long-term thermal reliability without ultra-high-frequency performance requirements, FR370HR remains the most field-verified, cost-efficient material solution available.
